ABOUT LICENSING

Parents often ask, “If the legal age to buy tobacco and vape products is 21, how are kids getting their hands on these things?” The answer is that laws vary from city to city. Retailers in some communities don’t need a license to sell vaping supplies. That means it’s not easy for law enforcement to hold them accountable for selling to minors. Some retailers sell to minors because they aren’t afraid of getting caught.

Currently, these Tri-County communities have licensing requirements in place for retailers:

Many other cities in our community are trying to make changes and strengthen the laws.
