27% of Colorado Youth currently Use E-Cigarettes

27% OF COLORADO YOUTH CURRENTLY USE E‑CIGARETTES

That’s almost 1/3 of kids using e-cigarettes here in Colorado1. In fact, according to a study by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Colorado has the highest rate of kids using e-cigarettes among the 37 states surveyed2. Colorado youth know that smoking cigarettes is harmful but may not see nicotine and other chemicals in e-cigarettes as being harmful too. Many people think that e-cigarettes emit a harmless water vapor, but this is not true. E-liquids that are in these devices can contain nicotine, an addictive chemical that can harm the developing teen brain, as well as other ingredients that can be harmful to our bodies.
